Maricopa Wells, Arizona

Maricopa Wells, was a series of watering holes, in the Sierra Estrella, eight miles north of present day Maricopa, Arizona and about a mile west of Pima Butte. This watering place was called Maricopa Wells by travelers on the Southern Emigrant Trail who used it as a stoppng place on the trail.

Maricopa is a city in the Gila River Valley in the U.S. state of Arizona. Incorporated in 2003, it is the nineteenth largest city in the state with an estimated population of 44,396 as of July 1, 2011. Maricopa is the second most populous incorporated city in Pinal County and forms part of the Phoenix metropolitan area, the 12th largest metropolitan area in the United States.

Maricopa (Amtrak station)

The Maricopa (Amtrak station) is located at 19427 N. John Wayne Parkway in Maricopa, Arizona which is in Pinal County, Arizona. Passenger rail service is provided thrice-weekly in each direction by the Sunset Limited. Maricopa was added as a stop for the Sunset Limited after Amtrak was forced to withdraw service from Phoenix due to deteriorated track conditions on a secondary Union Pacific Railroad track which diverged from the mainline to serve Phoenix.
