Northern Arizona
Northern Arizona is an unofficial, colloquially-defined region of the U.S. state of Arizona. It is dominated by the Colorado Plateau, the southern border of which in Arizona is called the Mogollon Rim. In the West lies the Grand Canyon, which was cut by the flow of the Colorado River while the land slowly rose around it. In the central portion lies the Painted Desert, consisting of sedimentary rocks eroded by water and wind, exposing thick, brightly colored layers.

Centennial Wash (Maricopa County)
Centennial Wash is an ephemeral dry wash that forms the final watershed of the Gila River in central Arizona — before the river turns south. From the Centennial Wash confluence, the Gila turns south, then southwest to exit Arizona on the California border adjacent Yuma. The Centennial Wash drainage is adjacent to the south-flowing Hassayampa River Drainage on the east; the next drainage east is the Agua Fria Drainage-(as shown on map).

Hassayampa, Arizona
Hassayampa is a place in Arizona on the both banks of the Hassayampa River along the Southern Pacific Railway. It was about four miles west of Palo Verde, Arizona, and slightly east of Dixie, Arizona, and Arlington, Arizona. Today it is on the route of W. Old Highway 80. It is a little west of S. 309th Avenue. In 1961 a landfill was opened in Hassayampa. The landfill is on the west side of the Hassayampa River.

Belmont Mountains
The Belmont Mountains are a 25 mi (40 km) long, arid, low elevation mountain range about 50 mi west of Phoenix, Arizona in the northern Sonoran Desert, north of the Gila River. The range is in the south of a region of two parallel washes; the Bouse Wash flows northwest to the Colorado River, and the Centennial Wash flows southeast to meet the Gila River.
