Greene County, Arkansas

Greene County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of 2010, the population was 42,090. The county seat is Paragould, which sits atop Crowley's Ridge. The Paragould Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Greene County. The Paragould Micropolitan Statistical Area is also part of the larger Jonesboro–Paragould Combined Statistical Area.

Crowley's Ridge

Crowley's Ridge (also Crowleys Ridge) is an unusual geological formation that rises 250 to 550 feet above the alluvial plain of the Mississippi embayment in a 150-mile line from southeastern Missouri to the Mississippi River near Helena, Arkansas. It is the most prominent feature in the Mississippi Alluvial Plain between Cape Girardeau, Missouri and the Gulf of Mexico.

Paragould High School

Paragould High School is a public school serving grades nine through twelve located in Paragould, Arkansas. The campus is located at 1701 West Court Street in Paragould and is administered by Paragould School District. Oak Grove High School and Paragould High School consolidated into Ridgecrest High School in the late 1980s and it was voted to change the nickname to the Rams to accommodate this consolidation. In 1998, the school's name was changed back to Paragould High School.

Paragould, Arkansas

Paragould is a city in Greene County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 26,113 at the 2010 U.S. Census. The city's name is a blend combining the last names of competing railroad magnates J.W. Paramore and Jay Gould. Paramore’s Texas & Saint Louis Railway (later the Cotton Belt) and Gould’s St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway (later the Missouri Pacific) intersected here in 1882.
