Ink, Arkansas

Ink is a small unincorporated community in Polk County, Arkansas, United States. The elevation at Ink is 1033 feet. A popular and apocryphal story of how the town got its name in 1887 is one based on a misunderstanding. When the townsfolk were completing the government application to establish a post office, they interpreted the instruction "Write in ink" literally and entered the name "Ink" as the proposed town name. This was accepted as the official name.

Rich Mountain Community College

Rich Mountain Community College (RMCC) is a public two-year institution of higher learning located in Mena, Arkansas. There are satellite campuses of the college located in Waldron, Wickes, Oden, and Mount Ida that serve Polk, Scott, and Montgomery counties. Polk County, Arkansas

Polk County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas, one of twelve Polk Counties in the United States. As of 2010, the population was 20,662. The county seat is Mena. Polk County is Arkansas's 48th county, formed on November 30, 1844, and named for James Polk, President of the United States. At that time, Polk was president elect. It is an alcohol prohibition or dry county.
