Thomas Downey High School

Thomas Downey High School (TDHS) is a High School in Modesto, California. It is one of the seven high schools in Modesto. George Lucas, Joe Rudi, Tony Graziani, Laci Peterson and Olympian and American Discus Record Holder Suzy Powell, are some of its notable graduates. One of the six high schools in Modesto, Thomas Downey High is the second oldest in the city. Its mascot is the Knight, but they are sometimes humorously referred to as the "Downey Ducks.

John Thurman Field

John Thurman Field is a stadium in Modesto, California. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Modesto Nuts minor league baseball team of the California League. It was built in 1955 and holds 4,000 people. It was later named for California State Assemblyman John Thurman, from Modesto. There has been talk about making a new stadium around the general area and although the issue remains inconclusive, a decision is expected sometime before 2012.
