Mountain High

Mountain High resort is a winter resort in the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County in California. Mountain High is the most-visited resort in Southern California. The resort is located along State Route 2 west of Wrightwood, California. The elevation of the resort is 6,600 feet to 8,200 feet for the Mountain High East Resort, 7,000 feet to 8,000 feet for the West Resort and 7,200 feet to 7,800 ft for the North Resort.

Ford Observatory

This article is about the California observatory. For the New York location see Ford Observatory (Ithaca). The Clinton B. Ford Observatory (Wrightwood) (Observatory Code 674) is an astronomical observatory that is associated historically with the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO). The observatory is located near the border of the Angeles National Forest and the San Bernardino National Forest near Wrightwood, California. It was founded by the late astronomer Clinton B. Ford.

Table Mountain Observatory

Table Mountain Observatory (TMO) is an astronomical observation facility operated by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It is located in Angeles National Forest near Wrightwood, California. Located 63 kilometers north-northwest of Los Angeles, TMO is part of JPL's Table Mountain Facility (TMF). The larger site hosts a number of non-astronomical projects.

1812 Wrightwood earthquake

The 1812 Wrightwood earthquake, also known as the San Juan Capistrano earthquake, occurred on December 8 in Southern California 7:00 AM. It is thought be the result of a rupture of the southern segment of the San Andreas Fault for an estimated length of 170 kilometers near Wrightwood, California, though the epicenter's location is not precisely known, and other proposed sources for the event exist.
