Wildcat Falls

Wildcat Falls is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:37.72328|N|119.71697|W||||| |primary |name= }} in the western quarter of Yosemite National Park alongside Highway 140, approximately 2.8 miles inside the park from the Arch Rock Entrance. It consists of a relatively thin string of falls and cascades totaling 720 feet (some sources list 630 feet), and only flows until about May or June. There are a total of seven drops in the waterfall, the longest being 120 feet.

Merced Grove

Merced Grove is a giant sequoia grove located near Crane Flat just inside the western boundary of Yosemite National Park north of El Portal and the Merced River, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:37|44|58|N|119|50|14|W|type:landmark_region:US-CA |primary |name= }} [elevation 5,469 feet ]. It is in the small valley of Moss Creek, accessible by short hike. It has 40 sequoias over 5 feet in diameter including around 15 over 10 feet in diameter.

Tamarack Flat Campground

Tamarack Flat Campground is a located in Yosemite National Park about 20 miles from the Valley at an elevation of 6,300 feet . There are 52 campsites and all are issued under a first-come first-served basis. There is a 3 miles unpaved road leading from the main road downhill to the campground. Each campsite contains a fire ring, picnic table, and food locker, and is near a vault toilet. Stream water must be treated (by boiling, using a filter, or using iodine). Potable water is not available.

Wawona Tunnel

The Wawona Tunnel is a highway tunnel completed during 1933 in Yosemite National Park. It was bored through solid granite and carries Wawona Road (which becomes California State Route 41 outside the park) through a mountain on the south side of the Merced River. It is located on one of the three main roads providing access to Yosemite Valley, the most visited section of the park.

Tunnel View

Tunnel View, within Yosemite National Park, is a viewpoint on State Route 41 located directly east of the Wawona Tunnel as one enters Yosemite Valley from the South. The view looks east into Yosemite Valley including the southwest face of El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall. This is, to many, the first view of the popular attractions in Yosemite. Many drivers stop just outside the tunnel to take pictures and absorb the visual esthetics.
