Mariposa County, California

Mariposa County is a county in the U.S. state of California, located in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It lies north of Fresno, east of Merced, and southeast of Stockton. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,251 up from 17,130 at the 2000 census. The county seat is Mariposa. The county's eastern section is the central portion of Yosemite National Park.

California's 19th congressional district

California's 19th congressional district is a congressional district located in the U.S. state of California that from 2003 to 2013 covered parts of Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, Tuolumne, and Stanislaus counties. The 19th district is currently represented by Democrat Zoe Lofgren, who succeeded Republican Jeff Denham (who was redistricted to the 10th district) in January 2013. The district now covers most of San Jose.

Wildcat Falls

Wildcat Falls is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:37.72328|N|119.71697|W||||| |primary |name= }} in the western quarter of Yosemite National Park alongside Highway 140, approximately 2.8 miles inside the park from the Arch Rock Entrance. It consists of a relatively thin string of falls and cascades totaling 720 feet (some sources list 630 feet), and only flows until about May or June. There are a total of seven drops in the waterfall, the longest being 120 feet.

Tamarack Flat Campground

Tamarack Flat Campground is a located in Yosemite National Park about 20 miles from the Valley at an elevation of 6,300 feet . There are 52 campsites and all are issued under a first-come first-served basis. There is a 3 miles unpaved road leading from the main road downhill to the campground. Each campsite contains a fire ring, picnic table, and food locker, and is near a vault toilet. Stream water must be treated (by boiling, using a filter, or using iodine). Potable water is not available.

Tunnel View

Tunnel View, within Yosemite National Park, is a viewpoint on State Route 41 located directly east of the Wawona Tunnel as one enters Yosemite Valley from the South. The view looks east into Yosemite Valley including the southwest face of El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall. This is, to many, the first view of the popular attractions in Yosemite. Many drivers stop just outside the tunnel to take pictures and absorb the visual esthetics.
