Cherry Creek (Tuolumne River)

Cherry Creek is a swift-moving stream in the Sierra Nevada in eastern California, USA. It is a part of the watershed in the Emigrant Wilderness that drains into the Tuolumne River. At its headwaters, it flows through granite valleys similar to those found in Yosemite Valley, though these areas are accessible only to backpackers. The creek is dammed in one location, forming Cherry Lake.

Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct

The Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct is a conveyance of Tuolumne River water runoff from federal lands in Yosemite National Park to San Francisco and its client municipalities in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The system, completed in 1934, is a 167 mi (269 km) gravity-driven network of dams, reservoirs, tunnels, aqueducts and pipelines that delivers 31,900,000 cubic feet per day (900,000 m/d), from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir behind O'Shaughnessy Dam.

Tuolumne County, California

Tuolumne County is a county in the Sierra Nevada of the U.S. state of California. The northern half of Yosemite National Park is located in the eastern part of the county. As of the 2010 census, the population was 55,365, up from 54,501 at the 2000 census. The county seat is Sonora, the county's only incorporated city.

Clavey River

The Clavey River is a tributary of the Tuolumne River, about 31.4 miles long, located in Tuolumne County, California. The Clavey's headwaters originate in the Emigrant Wilderness in the Stanislaus National Forest. Uniquely, it flows north-south, which is exceptional for a west-slope river in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The river makes a sweeping right-hand turn at Jawbone Ridge prior to joining forces with the main stem of the Tuolumne River.

Cherry Lake

Cherry Lake is an artificial lake in the Stanislaus National Forest of Tuolumne County, California about 25 miles east of the city of Sonora. It is at an elevation of 4,700 feet on the western side of the Sierra Nevada, and lies just outside the western boundary of Yosemite National Park. The lake has a capacity of 273,500 acre·ft and is formed by Cherry Valley Dam on Cherry Creek.
