Martinez Station is a union station in Martinez, California, the county seat of Contra Costa County. It is served by 44 Amtrak trains per day, including Capitol Corridor trains, San Joaquins, the California Zephyr and the Coast Starlight. (When Amtrak took over in 1971 none of its trains stopped at Martinez. ) The station is served by local County Connection bus service and connecting service from Benicia Breeze, WestCAT, and Tri-Delta Transit.

Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County

The Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County is the official arts council of Contra Costa County, California, USA. The Commission was approved by the County Board of Supervisors on December 13, 1994. After a search for candidates to fill nine positions on the Commission (five to represent each of the supervisorial districts and four to serve at-large), the supervisors appointed the commissioners by June 1995. The Commission held its first meeting on July 12, 1995.
