Sunfair, California

Sunfair is an unincorporated community in San Bernardino County, California. The community is about three and one half miles northeast of Joshua Tree. State Route 62 traverses the area south of Sunfair in an east-west direction. Sunfair lies near the northern border of Joshua Tree National Park The community is officially recognized by the US Geological Survey with a USGS feature ID of 250092.

Camp Dunlap

Camp Dunlap was a U.S. Marine Corps base activated on October 15, 1942, as a training facility during World War II. The camp was named for Brigadier General Robert H. Dunlap. It was used to train artillery and anti-aircraft units of the Fleet Marine Force. The base was located at the present-day location of Slab City (also known as The Slabs) in Imperial County, California.
