Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park

Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park belongs to the California State Historic Park system, a part of the California Department of Parks and Recreation. Malakoff Diggins is the site of California's largest hydraulic mines. It is a 26 mile (42 km) drive north-east of Nevada City, California in the Gold Rush country. The "canyon" is 7,000 feet long, as much as 3,000 feet wide, and nearly 600 feet deep in places.

Scotts Flat Reservoir

Scotts Flat Reservoir is an artificial lake in the Tahoe National Forest of Nevada County, California, 6.5 miles east of Nevada City. The lake is at an elevation of 3,100 ft and has a surface area of 850 acres, with 7.5 miles of shoreline lined with pine trees. Amenities consist of two launch ramps, a marina, campsites, a picnic area, sandy beaches, and a general store.

KVMR

KVMR is a progressive, independent radio station founded in 1978 in Nevada City, California. KVMR's coverage from its transmitter on nearby 3000' Banner Mountain includes the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Northern California, as well as the Central Valley region around California's state capital, Sacramento. A translator on Mount Pluto covers much of the Truckee, California area and the northern end of the Lake Tahoe region at (105.1 FM).

Nevada City, California

Nevada City (originally, Ustumah, a Nisenan Maidu village; later, Nevada, Deer Creek Dry Diggins, and Caldwell's Upper Store) is the county seat of Nevada County, California, USA, located 60 miles northeast of Sacramento and 28 miles north of Auburn. In 1900, 3,250 people lived in Nevada City; in 1910, 2,689 lived there; at the 2000 census, the population was 3,001, and at the 2010 census it was 3,068.
