Nevada City (originally, Ustumah, a Nisenan Maidu village; later, Nevada, Deer Creek Dry Diggins, and Caldwell's Upper Store) is the county seat of Nevada County, California, USA, located 60 miles northeast of Sacramento and 28 miles north of Auburn.
