Mammoth Yosemite Airport is a town-owned public-use airport located 6 nmi east of the central business district of Mammoth Lakes, a town in Mono County, California. The airport is mostly used for general aviation, but also has scheduled passenger service provided by two commercial airlines. Convict Lake

Convict Lake is a lake in the Sherwin Range of the Sierra Nevada in California, USA. It is known for its fishing and the dramatic mountains that surround the lake. Its surface lies at an elevation of 7,850 ft . The lake was named after an incident on September 23, 1871, where a group of convicts escaped from prison in Carson City. A posse, from Benton, led by Deputy Sheriff George Hightower, encountered the convicts near the head of what is now Convict Creek.

Crowley Lake

Crowley Lake is a reservoir on the upper Owens River in southern Mono County, California in the United States. Crowley Lake is 15 miles south of Mammoth Lakes. The lake was created in 1941 by the building of the Long Valley Dam by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP), as storage for the Los Angeles Aqueduct and for flood control. The dam is 126 feet high and impounds 183,465 acre-feet. For more on the history of the lake, see Owens Lake.
