Castroville, California
Castroville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Monterey County, California, United States. Castroville is located 9 miles northwest of Salinas, at an elevation of 23 feet (7 m). The population was 6,481 at the 2010 census, down from 6,724 at the 2000 census. Castroville calls itself "Artichoke Center of the World" and hosts the annual Castroville Artichoke Festival. Marilyn Monroe was named the festival's Artichoke Queen in February 1948 and William Hung was named the Artichoke King in 2006.

Rancho Las Salinas
Rancho Las Salinas also called El Tucho was a 17,712-acre Spanish land concession in present day Monterey County, California given in 1795 to Antonio Aceves and Antonio Romero. A 4,414-acre Mexican land grant was made to Gabriel Espinosa by Mexican governor Nicolás Gutiérrez in 1839. The grant extended from present day Marina to Salinas.

Salinas River State Beach
Salinas River State Beach is a beach located at the South end of Moss Landing, California. It can be accessed from the Potrero exit off of Highway 1, in Moss Landing. It is part of the 99 miles of Monterey County coastline. Visitors to this beach are better off coming for nature watching, beach combing, fishing, photography, and taking a walk, rather than swimming, surfing and contains the remnants of a half sunken barge.
