The Jawbone-Butterbredt Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC), is located in the Mojave Desert and Southern Sierra Nevada, northwest of California City and California State Route 14, in Kern County, California. Brown Peak (Kern County, California)

Brown Peak is a peak located in Kern County, California. The peak is located on King Solomons Ridge at the head of Haight Canyon, 2.1 miles southwest of Liebel Peak and 12.5 miles north of Loraine, California in Sequoia National Forest. Brown Peak is named for Charlie Brown, a miner who lived in the area during the early 1900s.

McIver's Cabin

McIver’s Cabin is a popular destination for off-road enthusiasts and serves as a shelter for hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). It is located in the Kiavah Wilderness area of the Sequoia National Forest near the PCT and at the end of the McIver 4X4 road. It was purchased in 1938 by Murdo George McIver and moved from Sand Canyon, where it was used in building the LA Aqueduct, to its present location.
