Sargent, California
Sargent is an unincorporated community located at the Santa Clara-San Benito County border. The weight of the community is shown on the Santa Clara County, or north, side of the line. Like Rucker north of Gilroy, the name is official but not in active use by locals today. Rancho Juristac
Rancho Juristac was a 4,540-acre Mexican land grant in present day Santa Clara County, California given in 1835 by Governor José Castro to Antonio and Faustino German. The rancho (also called "La Brea") was once noted for its liquid petroleum deposits. Rancho Juristac, five miles south of Gilroy, is the southern most rancho in Santa Clara County, and encompasses Sargent.

Rancho Llano de Tesquisquita
Rancho Llano de Tesquisquita was a 16,016-acre Mexican land grant in present day San Benito County and Santa Clara County, California given in 1835 by Governor José Castro to José María Sanchez. The name means "flats of Tesquisquita". The grant extended between the Pajaro River and Tesquisquita Slough, south of present day Gilroy.

Earthbound Farm is an American farm located near San Juan Bautista, California. It is America's largest grower of organic produce. It was also the first company to produce prewashed, packaged salad greens on an industrial scale. Earthbound Farm was founded in 1984 by Drew and Myra Goodman, on a 2.5 acres farm in California’s Carmel Valley. After 25 years, the company now employs 150 farmers on 30,000 acres .

Gavilan College
Gavilan College is a community college located in Gilroy, California. The college was established in 1919 as the San Benito County Junior College. It operated as such until 1963, when a new community college district was drawn that included both San Benito County and southern Santa Clara County. The college moved to its present main campus in 1966. In 1997, satellite sites were added in Hollister and Morgan Hill to augment offerings on the main campus.
