Soda Lake (San Bernardino County)
Soda Lake is a dry lake at the terminus of the Mojave River in the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, California. The lake has standing water during wet periods, and water can be found beneath the surface. Soda Lake along with Silver Lake are what remains of the large, perennial, Holocene Lake Mojave. The waters of the lake, now with no outlet, evaporate and has left alkaline evaporites of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate.

Rasor Off-Highway Vehicle Area is a remote public use area for the off-highway vehicle user located in the Mojave Desert about 50 miles east of Barstow, California, administered by the Bureau of Land Management. Besides the remote nature of the area, another attraction is the historic 19th century Mojave Road which traverses the riding area into the Mojave National Preserve. Rasor has rolling hills, open valleys, and sand dunes that invite riders willing to travel through this remote area.

The world's tallest thermometer is a landmark located in Baker, California, USA. It is technically an electric sign rather than a tall thermometer. It memorializes the record 134 degrees Fahrenheit recorded in nearby Death Valley on July 10, 1913. It weighs 76,812 pounds and held together by 125 cubic yards of concrete. It stands 134 feet tall and is capable of displaying a maximum temperature of 134, both of which are a reference to the temperature record.
