Sheephorn, Colorado
Sheephorn is an isolated, unincorporated community in Eagle County, Colorado, located at an elevation of 7,972 feet. Near the border of Eagle County and Grand County, Sheephorn is sparsely populated and is composed of several ranches, the largest being Piney Peak Ranch, previously known as the Sheephorn Ranch. Sheephorn was homesteaded in the mid-1800s by a handful of families that were cattle ranchers.

The Green Mountain Dam was built between 1938 and 1942 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation as part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project. The reservoir and its dam store water that is diverted to the cities in the Front Range Urban Corridor. Behind the dam is a hydroelectric power plant that has a 25.8 megawatt capacity. The reservoir has a capacity of 154,645 acre feet of water.

Gore Canyon
Gore Canyon is a short isolated canyon on the upper Colorado River in southwestern Grand County, Colorado in the United States. The steep and rugged canyon, approximately 3 miles (5 km) long, was carved by the river as it passed the northern end of the Gore Range southwest of Kremmling. The Colorado descends from approximately 7300 ft to approximately 7000 ft over the length of the canyon. The steep walls ascend approximately 1000 ft on either side.

Kremmling, Colorado
Kremmling is a Statutory Town in Grand County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,578 at the 2000 census. The town sits along the upper Colorado River in the lower arid section of Middle Park between Byers Canyon and Gore Canyon. The town was founded in 1881 during the Colorado Silver Boom days, but the lack of mineral resources in the nearby mountains made the town grow very slowly in the early days.
