Noroton Heights Fire Department

The Noroton Heights Fire Department, or the NHFD is one of three all-volunteer fire departments serving the town of Darien, Connecticut. Each volunteer fire departments serve a specific geographic region within the town, as well as combining services when needed. The other two all-volunteer fire departments in Darien are the Noroton Fire Department and the Darien Fire Department, both of which respond to calls in conjunction with the Noroton Heights Fire Department.

Noroton Heights (Metro-North station)

The Noroton Heights Metro-North Railroad station serves the residents of Darien, Connecticut via the New Haven Line. It is 36.2 miles from Grand Central Terminal. The station is located near Exit 10 on Interstate 95. The highway borders the southern side of the station, which faces Heights Road to the north, Hollow Tree Ridge Road to the west and has access to Noroton Avenue to the east (via Ledge Road). The station is one of two in Darien; the other is the Darien Metro-North train station.

Middlesex Middle School

Middlesex Middle School is a middle school in the Darien Public Schools district in Darien, Connecticut, United States. The school serves students from sixth through eighth grades. Each grade is divided into 4 teams of around 90 to 150 students. In eighth grade there is the Tan, Maroon, Navy and Green teams, for seventh grade there is the Gold, Purple, Aqua and Blue teams and for sixth grade there is the Bronze, Silver, Red and Orange teams.

Darien (Metro-North station)

The Darien Metro-North Railroad station serves the residents of Darien, Connecticut via the New Haven Line. It is 37.7 miles from Grand Central Terminal. A small station house is located on the north side of the tracks. The station is wheelchair accessible, with elevators at the east end, near the Boston Post Road. The station is located downtown at the intersection of the Post Road (U.S. Route 1, the town's main thoroughfare) and West Avenue.

Cove Island Park

Cove Island Park is a beach in The Cove section of Stamford, Connecticut, located on Long Island Sound. It is a popular spot for residents of Stamford to go rollerblading, biking and walking, as well as enjoy barbecues and ride the tram around the island. Since 2000 the park has been the headquarters of SoundWaters, a nonprofit environmental education organization that offers a free small aquarium, music, canoe trips, school trips and family activities on land and aboard an 80-foot schooner.
