Somers is a town in Tolland County, Connecticut, USA. The population was 10,417 at the 2000 census. The town center is listed by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census-designated place (CDP). In 2007, Money Magazine named Somers, Connecticut 53rd on its list of 100 Best Places to Live, based on "economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a real sense of community. " Bordering Massachusetts, Somers is considered part of the City of Springfield, Massachusetts NECTA.

WDJW

WDJW is the call sign of the FM radio station licensed to the Somers, Connecticut Board of Education. One of only a handful of high school radio stations in the state, WDJW has served the school and the community for over 20 years. Originally operating on 105.3 MHz, WDJW moved to 89.7 in the early nineties and has had an eclectic format consisting of student and faculty programs supplemented with the programming of WWUH from the University of Hartford.

Four Town Fair

The Four Town Fair is an agricultural exhibition held each September in Somers, Connecticut, United States that was established in 1838. It features numerous competitions and displays related to farming and agriculture, as well as many events purely for fun, such as a frog jumping contest and pig races. The Four Town Fair gets its name from referencing the towns of Ellington, East Windsor, Enfield, and Somers.

Shenipsit Trail

The Shenipsit Trail is a Blue-Blazed hiking trail located in Central Connecticut between 3.5 and 7 miles (11 km) east of the Connecticut River. It runs 41 miles (64 km) in a north-south direction. The southern trailhead is on Gadpouch Road in Cobalt, CT on the southern end of the Meshomasic State Forest. The northern trailhead is on Country Road just north of Soapstone Mountain and the Shenipsit State Forest in Somers, CT.
