Yale-Myers Forest

The Yale-Myers Forest is a 7,800-acre (32 km²) forest owned by Yale University and administered by the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Located in the towns of Union, Ashford, Eastford, and Woodstock in the northeast part of Connecticut. The forest is reputed to be the largest private landholding in the state. Mount Hope River

The Mount Hope River is formed at a swampy drainage about 2 miles north of Westford, Connecticut and flows about 14.5 miles to Mansfield Hollow Lake just south of Mansfield, Connecticut. A popular whitewater paddling route starts along Route 89 about 1/10 of a mile north of the junction with U.S. Route 44.

In geological terms it is an ancient fault in the Avalonian bedrock of the eastern highlands of Connecticut.
