Battle of Davis's Cross Roads

The Battle of Davis's Cross Roads, also known as the Battle of Dug Gap, was fought September 10–11, 1863, in northwestern Georgia, as part of the Chickamauga Campaign of the American Civil War. Petty John's Cave

Pettijohn's Cave has a surveyed length of 31,490 feet and reaches a depth of 235 ft. It is located in Walker County, Georgia on the east side Pigeon Mountain in the Appalachian Plateaus of Northwest Georgia. The cave is accessed via a path from a gravel parking area on the side of the road. Out of the 242 listed it is 119th longest cave in the United States as declared by the Georgia Speleological Survey. Pettijohn's Cave is a very popular cave for local students and spelunkers.
