Richmond County, Georgia

Richmond County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is one of the original counties of Georgia, created February 5, 1777. As of the 2010 census, the population was 200,549. Following an election in 1995, the city of Augusta consolidated governments with Richmond County. The consolidated entity is known as Augusta-Richmond County, or simply Augusta. The cities of Hephzibah and Blythe in southern Richmond County voted to remain separate and not consolidate.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, a 125-bed medical treatment facility, is based at Fort Gordon, located near Augusta, Georgia and previously served as the headquarters of the Army's Southeast Regional Medical Command, or SERMC. SERMC oversees the Army's hospitals and clinics within the southeastern United States and Puerto Rico. SERMC was renamed Southern Regional Medical Command and was relocated to San Antonio in 2009.

Regency Mall (Augusta, Georgia)

Regency Mall was a major regional mall in South Augusta, Georgia. Located at 1700 Gordon Highway, Regency Mall was open from 1978 to 2002. It was anchored by J.B. White, Belk (Belk-Howard, but signed as Belk), Montgomery Ward and Cullum's, and also featured a three-screen movie General Cinema theatre. Developed by Edward J. DeBartolo and Associates, Regency Mall was Augusta’s first shopping mall, opening one week before Augusta Mall.
