Augusta Regional Airport

Augusta Regional Airport, also known as Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field, is a city-owned, public-use airport located six nautical miles (11 km) south of the central business district of Augusta, a city in Richmond County, Georgia, United States. In 2000, Bush Field airport changed its name to Augusta Regional Airport. The airport opened a brand new passenger terminal in December 2007, and renovated the entire property for ease of use and convenience, which was designed by the LPA Group.

New Savannah, Georgia

The dead town of New Savannah, Georgia began about 1740 as a Chickasaw village on the Savannah River, at the mouth of Butler Creek below Augusta. Stories as to the circumstances vary, but in any case some portion of the Horse Creek Chickasaws under Squirrel King moved across the river and founded the town from which they farmed, hunted and scouted until the Revolutionary War. In 1757, CPT Daniel Pepper estimated the population there as "seventy Gun Men" .

Richmond County, Georgia

Richmond County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is one of the original counties of Georgia, created February 5, 1777. As of the 2010 census, the population was 200,549. Following an election in 1995, the city of Augusta consolidated governments with Richmond County. The consolidated entity is known as Augusta-Richmond County, or simply Augusta. The cities of Hephzibah and Blythe in southern Richmond County voted to remain separate and not consolidate.
