St. Meinrad Archabbey

Saint Meinrad Archabbey in Spencer County, Indiana, USA, was founded by monks from Einsiedeln Abbey on March 21, 1854, and is home to approximately 98 monks. It is one of only two archabbeys in the United States and one of 11 in the world. The Benedictine community at Saint Meinrad consists of men who dedicate their lives to prayer and work. They gather in community five times a day—for morning prayer, Mass, noon prayer, evening prayer and compline—to pray for the Church and the world.

Perry County, Indiana

Perry County is a county located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2010, the population was 19,338. The county seat is Tell City. It is the hilliest county as well as one of the most forested counties of in Indiana as it features more than 60,000 acres of Hoosier National Forest. The Ohio River Scenic Byway along Indiana State Road 66 runs along the southern border of the county while Interstate 64 traverses the northern portion of the county.

Fulda, Indiana

Fulda is an unincorporated community in Harrison Township, Spencer County, Indiana, United States. The town of Fulda was founded in 1845 by Milton Jackson, who came to Spencer County from Kentucky. In 1847, the parish of St. Boniface was started in Fulda by Father Kundek. There are around 200 residents in Fulda.
