Wabash River

The Wabash River /ˈwɔːbæʃ/ is a 503-mile-long river in the Midwestern United States that flows southwest from northwest Ohio near Fort Recovery across northern Indiana to southern Illinois, where it forms the Illinois-Indiana border before draining into the Ohio River, of which it is the largest northern tributary. From the dam near Huntington, Indiana to its terminus at the Ohio River, the Wabash flows freely for 411 miles .

John T. Myers Locks and Dam

The John T. Myers Locks and Dam is a United States Army Corps of Engineers facility on the Ohio River in Posey County, Indiana, and Union County, Kentucky. Formerly known as the Uniontown Locks and Dam, it was renamed by an act of Congress in 1996 (PL 104-303) as a tribute to recently retired Congressman John T. Myers.

Hovey Lake Fish and Wildlife Area

Hovey Lake Fish and Wildlife Area is a nearly 7,000-acre recreational area operated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources near Mt. Vernon, Indiana. The land comprising Hovey Lake FWA was originally ceded to the Indiana Territory by the Treaty of Vincennes in 1804, and then granted to the Wabash and Erie Canal Company. With the failure of the canal, the land was acquired by Charles Hovey.

Uniontown, Kentucky

Uniontown is a city in Union County, Kentucky in the United States of America. The population was 1,064 at the 2000 census. The name derives from the fact that the city was formed by merging the towns of Francisburg and Locust Port. The John T. Myers Locks and Dam once known as Uniontown Locks and Dam is located downriver 3½ miles.
