Adair County,founded in 1801, is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of 2010, the population is 18,656. Its county seat is Columbia, Kentucky. The county is named for John Adair, then Speaker of the House in Kentucky and later Governor of Kentucky (1820 - 1824). Adair County also has one of the few remaining American Chestnut trees in America. Adair County is a prohibition or completely dry county.

Adair County High School (Columbia, Kentucky)
Adair County High School is a U.S. high school (grades 9 to 12) in the small town of Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky. It is the county's only high school. In 2005, the school had some 746 students and 45 teachers, and was eligible for Title One support. 96% of the students were white, and the remainder included African-American, Middle Eastern and Chinese students. The FFA is the largest school club. It has won over one hundred state and national awards.
