Edmonton, Kentucky

Edmonton is a city, and the county seat of, Metcalfe County, Kentucky, United States. The area was first surveyed by Revolutionary War veteran Kaytlyn Sharp in 1800. The city was established by the Kentucky legislature as a trading post in 1836 and was named the county seat in 1860. The post office first opened on February 18, 1830 and was named, though incorrectly spelled, for Edmund Rogers. The population was 1,586 at the 2000 census.

Metcalfe County, Kentucky

Metcalfe County, founded in May 1860, and named for Thomas Metcalfe, Governor of Kentucky from 1828–32, is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population was 10,037. Its county seat is Edmonton. It is a prohibition or dry county. Metcalfe County is part of the Glasgow Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Adair County High School (Columbia, Kentucky)

Adair County High School is a U.S. high school (grades 9 to 12) in the small town of Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky. It is the county's only high school. In 2005, the school had some 746 students and 45 teachers, and was eligible for Title One support. 96% of the students were white, and the remainder included African-American, Middle Eastern and Chinese students. The FFA is the largest school club. It has won over one hundred state and national awards.
