Maker's Mark

Maker’s Mark is a small-batch bourbon whisky that is distilled in Loretto, Kentucky, by Beam Inc. It is sold in distinctively squarish bottles, which are sealed with red wax, and bottled at 90 U.S. proof. The distillery offers tours, and is part of the American Whiskey Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

The Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani

The Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani is a Trappist monastery near Bardstown, Kentucky in Nelson County affiliated with the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (Ordo Cisterciensis Strictioris Observantiae). Founded on 21 December 1848 and made an abbey in 1851, Gethsemani is considered to the "mother house" of all Trappist and Trappistine monasteries in the United States of America. Gethsemani is the oldest monastery in the United States that is still in use.
