The Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani is a Trappist monastery near Bardstown, Kentucky in Nelson County affiliated with the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (Ordo Cisterciensis Strictioris Observantiae). Founded on 21 December 1848 and made an abbey in 1851, Gethsemani is considered to the "mother house" of all Trappist and Trappistine monasteries in the United States of America. Gethsemani is the oldest monastery in the United States that is still in use.

New Haven was founded as Pottinger's Landing in 1781 and later renamed New Haven in 1819 by Samuel Pottinger Jr. after the Connecticut town.
