St. Joseph is a town in and the parish seat of Tensas Parish in northeastern Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,340 at the 2000 census, but it declined by 12.2 percent to 1,176 in 2010. The African American majority increased from 69 percent in 2000 to 77.4 percent in 2010. Unique for the Deep South, St. Joseph was planned and constructed along New England-style village green. The downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Newellton is a town in northern Tensas Parish in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population is 1,227 in the 2010 census, a decline of 255 persons, or 17 percent, from the 2000 tabulation of 1,482.
