Cameron Parish (French: Paroisse de Cameron) is the parish with the most land area in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The parish seat is Cameron and as of 2010, the population was 6,839. Gerstner Field
Gerstner Field is a former World War I military airfield, located 11.1 miles southeast of Lake Charles, Louisiana. It operated as a training field for the Air Service, United States Army between 1917 until 1919. The airfield was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established in 1917 after the United States entry into World War I. The base was named for Lieutenant Fredrick J. Gerstner (1891-1914), who died in an airplane crash, 31 December 1914.

Big Lake is well known amongst Gulf Coast anglers as a destination for large amounts of red drum and spotted sea trout as well as flounder and brown and white shrimp.
