Roman Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles, is a particular church located in southwest Louisiana. It is a fairly new diocese of the Roman Catholic Church, being founded on January 29, 1980. It is suffragan to the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The diocese is administered from the city of Lake Charles. The patron saint of the diocese is St. Peter Claver and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception serves as the Episcopal see.

Founded in 1861 in Calcasieu Parish, it is a major cultural, industrial, and educational center in the southwest region of the state, and one of the most important in Acadiana. As of the 2010 census, the population was 71,993. Lake Charles is the principal city of the Lake Charles Metropolitan Statistical Area, having a population of 194,138.

Sudduth Coliseum, in the Lake Charles Civic Center, is a 7,450-seat multi-purpose arena in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA. It is home to the Louisiana Swashbucklers of the Indoor Football League. Located on Lakeshore Drive, it is the main arena of the Lake Charles Civic Center. It is a premier venue for hosting special events, including the 2006 Louisiana State Choir festival and Contraband Days. The center is named for former Lake Charles Mayor James Sudduth.

The Lake Charles Amtrak station is a train station in Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. It is located on 100 Ryan Street at the west end of South Railroad Avenue. Lake Charles station is a decorative unstaffed waiting room that serves as a replacement for the original Lake Charles Station on South Railroad Avenue between Bilbo and Hedges Streets. The site of the former station shifts Railroad Avenue slightly to the south.
