Calcasieu Lake is a brackish lake located in southwest Louisiana, United States, located mostly within Cameron Parish. The lake is paralleled on its west shore by Louisiana Highway 27 and is located about 17 miles (27.35 km) south of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Lake is also known as Big Lake to the local population. Big Lake is well known amongst Gulf Coast anglers as a destination for large amounts of red drum and spotted sea trout as well as flounder and brown and white shrimp.

Calcasieu River
The Calcasieu River (KAL-kuh-shoo) is a river on the Gulf Coast in southwestern Louisiana. Approximately 200 miles long, it drains a largely rural area of forests and bayou country, meandering southward to the Gulf of Mexico. The name "Calcasieu" comes from the Native American Atakapa language katkosh, for "eagle", and yok, "to cry". Its historical Spanish name was Arroyo Hondo ("Deep Stream").

Owned by Calcasieu Parish, the airport serves approximately 375,000 people in the Lake Charles – Jennings combined statistical area. The airport has two runways. They are oriented 5/23 and 15/33 and do not cross.

Burton Coliseum
Burton Coliseum is a 6,500-seat multi-purpose arena, with 2,000 in temporary seating in Lake Charles, Louisiana. It was built in 1976 and is home to the McNeese State University Cowboys basketball team. It hosted the Southland Conference men's basketball tournament in 2002. The arena has 24,000 square feet of space with an additional 160,000 square feet of space at the Livestock and Exhibit Building, with 50,000 more square feet of space at the 1,000-seat Burton Agricultural Arena.
