Vermilion Parish (French: Paroisse de Vermilion) is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The parish seat is Abbeville. As of the 2010 census, the population was 57,999. The parish is 82 percent white. Vermilion Parish is part of the Abbeville Micropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Lafayette–Acadiana Combined Statistical Area. Vermilion and neighboring Cameron parishes are represented in the Louisiana House of Representatives by the Republican Jonathan W. Perry of Kaplan.

Vermilion Bay is a bay in southern Louisiana in the United States. Vermilion Bay is located in southwestern Iberia Parish and southeastern Vermilion Parish. It is an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico, to which it is connected to the south by a narrow strait called Southwest Pass; Marsh Island and a portion of the Louisiana mainland in southeastern Vermilion Parish otherwise separate it from the Gulf of Mexico. On the east, Vermilion Bay connects directly to West Cote Blanche Bay.

It is the principal city of the Abbeville Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Vermilion Parish. It is also part of the larger Lafayette–Acadiana Combined Statistical Area. The population was 12,257 at the 2010 census. It is 41 percent African American.
