Natchez is a village in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 583 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Natchitoches Micropolitan Statistical Area. It includes St. Augustine Parish (Isle Brevelle) Church. Church services were established in 1803 by Augustin Métoyer and have been held continuously since then. It is the oldest church in the US founded by and for the mixed Creole people. The church was built by sons of Métoyer and Marie Thérèse Coin-coin.

As of 2010, the Natchitoches Parish population was 39,566, an increase of 486 over the 2000 tabulation of 39,080. The parish is nearly 42 percent African American. This is the heart of the Cane River Louisiana Creole community. The Natchitoches Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Natchitoches Parish.

Prather Coliseum
Prather Coliseum is a 3,900-seat multi-purpose arena in Natchitoches, Louisiana. It opened in 1964 and is home to the Northwestern State University Demons basketball team. The arena was named in honor of the school's most successful basketball and football coach, H. Lee Prather, who served from the 1910s through the 1940s before becoming NSU President in 1951. It hosted the Southland Conference men's basketball tournament in 2005–06.
