Timbalier Bay

Timbalier Bay is a bay in southeastern Louisiana in the United States. The bay is an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico and lies near New Orleans along the southwestern coast of Lafouche Parish. Timbalier Island lies between the bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The United States Navy seaplane tender USS Timbalier, in commission from 1946 to 1954, was named for Timbalier Bay.

Grand Isle, Louisiana

Grand Isle is a town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, located on a barrier island of the same name in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is at the mouth of Barataria Bay where it meets the gulf. As of the 2010 census, the town resident population was 1,296; during summers, the population including tourists and seasonal residents sometimes increases to over 20,000.
