Maine State Music Theatre

The Maine State Music Theatre is a performing arts organization based in Brunswick, Maine, United States. Founded in 1959 as the Brunswick Summer Playhouse, it became a non-profit in 1970. In 1988 it changed to the current name to reflect its growing area of patronage. Governor John R. McKernan recognized the organization that year for its longevity, as the number of Equity theatres in the state had dropped by half, and few theatres nationwide remained exclusively musical-based.

Brunswick, Maine

Brunswick is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. The population was 20,278 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland-South Portland-Biddeford metropolitan area. Brunswick is home to Bowdoin College, the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum, The Theater Project, and the Maine State Music Theatre. It is also home to Mid Coast Hospital, one of Maine's newest full service hospitals.

Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum

The Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum was the home of American Civil War general, Bowdoin College president, and Maine Governor Joshua L. Chamberlain for over 50 years. WBOR is a radio station licensed to Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, USA. The station broadcasts from the basement of the Dudley Coe Building on the Bowdoin College campus.
