Free Soil is a village in Mason County of the U.S. state of Michigan.. The population was 144 at the 2010 census. The village is located within Free Soil Township. The village is close to the intersection of Free Soil and Custer Roads. Free Soil previously operated a two-building K-12 school district, with the high school closing in 2007 and elementary closing in 2010. The school had been in operation since 1913.

WMTE-FM (True Oldies Channel)(Formerly Kool 101.5 and oldies 101.5) was an FM radio station located in Manistee, Michigan, United States, and owned by Lake Michigan Broadcasting. The station was signed on in June 1994 by the original owner, Bay View Broadcasting. The original call letters were WXYQ and the station adopted an oldies format. Those call letters were previously used by an AM country station in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
