Algoma University
Algoma University (Algoma U) is a postsecondary institution in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, offering undergraduate university degrees in more than 30 academic programs. The student population has increased substantially in recent years and Algoma now has about 1300 students. From its founding in 1967 until June 18, 2008, Algoma was an affiliated college of Laurentian University in Sudbury and was officially known as Algoma University College.

Gouin Street Arena
Gouin Street Arena is the predecessor to the Sault Memorial Gardens, Sault Ste. Marie's premier sports complex from 1949-2006. It was built in the early 1900s on Gouin Street between Queen and Bay Streets near East Street. The Arena housed in-season ice surfaces for both ice hockey and curling. The building's seating was bench-style (in much the same fashion as the Memorial Gardens) and capacity was around 1000. In 1910, a fire completely destroyed the Gouin Street building.

WLSO is a radio station in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, United States, broadcasting at 90.1 on the FM dial. It is the college radio station of the city's Lake Superior State University. The station originally launched in 1991, as an AM carrier current station, broadcasting exclusively to Brady Hall, parts of Osborn Hall and on crisp nights could be heard in the campus trailer park.
