WMKD

WMKD (105.5 FM, "Country 105," formerly known as "Big Country 105.5") is a Country music formatted radio station serving Pickford, Michigan and the "Twin Saults". WMKD's 55,000-watt signal covers most of the eastern Upper Peninsula and far northern lower Michigan. Although a construction permit for 105.5 WADW was granted in 1993, the station did not sign on until 2001.

Neebish Island

Neebish Island is an island in the U.S. state of Michigan in the St. Marys River between the United States and the Canadian province of Ontario. It is divided into two parts known as "Big Neebish" and "Little Neebish" which are divided by a river which is sometimes more mud than river and is known as 'the dark hole' or 'the black hole' by Neebish Islanders.

Sugar Island is an island in the U.S. state of Michigan in the St. Marys River between the United States and the Canadian province of Ontario. The entire island constitutes Sugar Island Township in Chippewa County at the eastern tip of the Upper Peninsula. According to the 2000 census there were 683 people living on a land area of 128 km .
