Heart Lake (Michigan)

Heart Lake, Michigan is located in Otsego County in northern Michigan, about 9 miles south of Gaylord, just west of Interstate 75. Heart Lake is so named due to its irregular shape of a valentine heart. Heart Lake comprises about 63 acres, has a maximum depth of 123 feet . The lake is a classic example of a kettle lake, many of which dot the landscape in this area. The lake holds healthy populations of splake, rainbow trout, bass, northern pike, and perch, and is popular with area fishermen.

Otsego Lake Township, Michigan

Otsego Lake Township is a civil township of Otsego County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,532 at the 2000 census. The township takes its name from Otsego Lake (Michigan), the southern half of which is within the township. Otsego Lake State Park is on the southeast shore of the lake in the township.

Otsego Lake (Michigan)

Otsego Lake is located in northwest Michigan at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:44|57|20|N|84|41|32|W|region:US-MI_type:waterbody_source:GNIS | |name=Otsego Lake }},south of the city of Gaylord in Otsego County. The lake spans the boundary between Otsego Township to the south and Bagley Township to the north. Otsego Lake State Park is located on the southeast shore of the lake and Otsego County Park is on the northwest shore.

Au Sable River (Michigan)

The Au Sable River in Michigan, United States runs approximately 138 miles through the northern Lower Peninsula, through the towns of Grayling and Mio, and enters Lake Huron at Oscoda. It is considered one of the best brown trout fisheries east of the Rockies and has been designated a blue ribbon trout stream by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. In French, au sable literally means "with sand. " A 1795 map calls it the Beauais River.
