Radium, Minnesota

Radium is a ghost town in section 19 of Comstock Township, Marshall County, Minnesota, United States. It was built alongside the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad branch line built in 1905 from Thief River Falls, Minnesota, to Kenmare, North Dakota. (This line still operates under the aegis of the Northern Plains Railroad. ) The place was named for the element radium, which was discovered nearby in 1902. Radium had its own post office from 1905 to 1984.

Little Black River (Minnesota)

The Little Black River is a 4.5-mile-long river in Wylie Township, in northwestern Red Lake County, Minnesota. From its source — Goose Lake Swamp in the Pembina State Wildlife Management Area — the river runs south and southeast to the Black River, a tributary of the Red Lake River. Its waters ultimately drain via Canada's Nelson River into Hudson Bay.
