Oktibbeha County, Mississippi
Oktibbeha County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of 2010, the population was 47,671. Its county seat is Starkville. Oktibbeha is a Native American word meaning either bloody water (because of a battle fought on the banks) or possibly icy creek. Indian artifacts over 2000 years old have been found near the Indian mounds adjacent to Indian Mound Campground, just east of Starkville. The Starkville Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Oktibbeha County.

McCarthy Gymnasium
McCarthy Gymnasium is a 3,000 seat multi-purpose arena in Starkville, Mississippi. It opened in 1950. It was home to the Mississippi State University Bulldogs basketball teams until the Humphrey Coliseum opened in 1975. It is currently home to the tennis teams. When it opened, the facility held over 5,000 people.
