Cal-Nev-Ari, Nevada

Cal-Nev-Ari is a census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada, United States, near the state's southernmost point. As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 244. The town's name is a syllabic abbreviation of California, Nevada, and Arizona. Cal-Nev-Ari was created in the mid 1960s by Nancy and Slim Kidwell, who acquired a 640-acre section of land from the U. S. government and commenced development of an airport-based community.

LORAN-C transmitter Searchlight

LORAN-C transmitter Searchlight was the Yankee secondary of the U.S. West Coast LORAN-C Chain (GRI 9940) and the Whiskey secondary of the South Central U.S. Chain (GRI 9610). The station, established in 1976, consisted of four 700-foot transmission towers. It transmitted 540 kW from 13.5 miles south of Searchlight, Nevada. There were five active duty and 2 reserve duty Coast Guard personnel stationed at LORSTA Searchlight. The station's Officer in Charge was a Chief Electronics Technician.

El Dorado Canyon (Nevada)

El Dorado Canyon is a canyon in far southern Nevada. It lies along Route 95. The canyon was named in 1857 by Captain Johnson of Fort Mohave when gold and silver was discovered here. It drains into the Colorado River. The town of Nelson lies in the canyon. Eldorado Canyon Mine Tours operates in the region.
