Hopatcong State Park

Hopatcong State Park is a state park in Landing, New Jersey. Operated and maintained by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry, the park consists of two discrete parcels of land, one that encompasses Lake Hopatcong and a parcel of land on its southwestern shore, and another that encompasses Lake Musconetcong about one mile to the west-southwest. The park contains remnants of Morris Canal, which operated from the 1830s to the 1920s and was largely fed by the lake.

Lake Hopatcong (NJT station)

Lake Hopatcong Station is a New Jersey Transit station in the Landing section of Roxbury Township, New Jersey. It sits at the intersection of Landing Road and Lakeside Boulevard (County Routes 631 and 602), about 600 feet southwest of the southern tip of Lake Hopatcong. Today, the station consists of low-level asphalt platforms on either side of the tracks, with a shelter on the Hackettstown-bound platform and 96 free parking spaces.

Stanhope, New Jersey

Stanhope is a borough in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 3,610, reflecting an increase of 26 (+0.7%) from the 3,584 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 191 (+5.6%) from the 3,393 counted in the 1990 Census. Stanhope was formed by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 24, 1904, from portions of Byram Township.

Bertrand Island, New Jersey

Bertrand Island, New Jersey, is a small peninsula in Lake Hopatcong, part of the community of Mount Arlington. It is best known as the former site of the Bertrand Island Amusement Park which existed from 1928 to 1983, as well as being the place of origin for Bette Cooper, Miss America 1937. Prior to the building of the amusement park, Bertrand Island actually was an island. Now there is a large isthmus of land leading to it, making it a peninsula. It is shaped somewhat like a spoon.
