Carmel Hamlet, New York
Carmel Hamlet (or Carmel) is the seat of Putnam County, New York, United States. It is a hamlet located in the town of Carmel. As of the 2010 census, the population was 6,817. The hamlet is the site of the historic County Court House, the David D. Bruen County Office Building, and other structures, and borders Lake Gleneida. Next to the lake stands a bronze statue commemorating Sybil Ludington's 1777 ride to warn of the British burning of nearby Danbury, Connecticut.

Lake Carmel, New York
Lake Carmel is a hamlet in the town of Kent in Putnam County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 8,282. The home of over half of the town of Kent's population, Lake Carmel is centered on the eponymous artificial lake, in the southeast corner of the township and just north of Carmel. Lake Carmel was developed in the 1920s and thereafter by the Smadbeck brothers, who excavated and dammed a swamp and sold lots through the now-defunct New York Daily Mirror.

Tilly Foster Mine
The Tilly Foster Mine was an iron mine two miles west of the village of Brewster, New York, along Route 6. The Tilly Foster Mine was named after Tillingham Foster, who bought the land that the mine was on from George Beale. After Foster's death in 1842, the property passed through several hands before it came into the possession of Harvey Iron and Steel Company. The mine opened in 1853 and employed large numbers of Irish and Italian immigrants.

Southeast (Metro-North station)
Southeast (formerly known as Brewster North) is a Metro-North Railroad station serving the residents of Southeast, New York via the Harlem Line. Trains leave for New York City every hour, and about every 30 minutes during rush hour. It is the terminus of the Harlem Line electrified service. For travel farther north to Wassaic, passengers must transfer here to diesel powered service. Exceptions are rush hours and a direct round-trip to Grand Central on weekends.
