Half Hollow Hills Central School District

Half Hollow Hills Central School District (#5) is located in Dix Hills and Melville, New York. The district includes parts of both Huntington and Babylon townships. The school district contains eleven schools (seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools). The current superintendent of schools is Mrs. Kelly Fallon. The district continues to annually have large population increases due to extensive development within its borders.

WBAB is a rock radio station on Long Island. Located at 102.3 FM, the station is licensed to Babylon, New York and is owned by Cox Radio. The station is also simulcast on WHFM 95.3 FM in eastern Suffolk County. Both WBAB's 102.3 and WHFM's 95.3 signals are broadcast in HD. The station also streams its signal worldwide at wbab. com. WBAB first went on the air in 1958. It simulcasted with WNYG 1440 AM, then called WBAB AM, until 102.3 FM was sold.

Edgewood State Hospital

Edgewood State Hospital was a tubercular/psychiatric hospital complex that formerly stood in Deer Park, New York, on Long Island, New York, USA. It was one of four state mental asylums built on Long Island, and was the last one of the four to be built. The hospital was built in the early 1940s, believed to be a Works Progress Administration-funded project.

Mason General Hospital

Mason General Hospital was a psychiatric hospital run by the United States War Department on Long Island during World War II. The facility consisted of all of the buildings that comprised Edgewood State Hospital and three buildings from Pilgrim State Hospital, in addition to numerous temporary buildings, and was named in honor of Brigadier General Charles Field Mason, who had served in the Army Medical Corps.
