It is bordered by Nissequogue to its east across the Nissequogue River, by Fort Salonga to its west, by Commack to its southwest, and by the hamlet of Smithtown to its southeast. Kings Park High School

Kings Park High School is a four year secondary school located in Kings Park, New York. It functions as the only high school for Kings Park Central School District which serves the communities of Kings Park (KP, San Remo, and Park View) and Fort Salonga. KPHS went through construction from 2005–2007, remodeling the whole lobby and cafeteria. The school principal is Mr. Lino Bracco.

Kings Park Psychiatric Center

The Kings Park Psychiatric Center, known by Kings Park locals simply as "The Psych Center", was a former state-run psychiatric hospital located in Kings Park, New York. It operated from 1885 until 1996, when the State of New York closed the facility, releasing its few remaining patients or transferring them to the still-operational Pilgrim Psychiatric Center.

Fort Salonga, New York

Fort Salonga is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York on the North Shore of Long Island. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP population was 10,008. The name evolved from the Revolutionary War British Fort Salonga, or Fort Slongo, (named after one of the fort’s architects) once located near the border of the towns of Huntington and Smithtown, overlooking Long Island Sound.
